KEIGER RESIDENCE

May 16th - June 3rd

After completing all of the preliminary work, Trimble Construction began clearing the construction site, installing the road and crane pad and excavating for the basement and crawl space.

June 30th - July 5th

After waiting for the foundation walls to finish in production, Thursday was the day the walls arrived. Ralph and Trimble Construction were on site to make sure everything went as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the wall set in one day. The remainder of the foundation walls were set on Tuesday the 5th.

Not too much to report this week. Through thunderstorms and rain we worked on the preparation of the porch foundation footings and began the attachment of the sill plate to the basement walls. Trimble construction also dug the ditch for the installation of the power line to the house site.

July 18th - 22nd

With afternoon thundershowers nearly every day this week, we continued work on the sill plate and placed the gravel inside the basement foundation area for the slab preparation.
John Matheney completed the below slab installation of the drain pipes and BARC completed installation of the underground utility line, transformer and temporary electric service. No more generator noise!

July 25th - August 5th

We were able to make a lot of progress with all the good weather these two weeks. We completed all of the preparation for the basement slab and nearly completed the floor system. Andrew installed the water hydrant for the masonry work and M&M Masonry Service poured and finished the basement slab on Friday the 5th.

We were rained out on Monday and Tuesday the 8th and 9th. We began framing the basement walls on Wednesday and continued installing the floor system. On Monday the 15th, Andrew, Jason W and Chantry began build up for the 1st floor wall framing. On Wednesday the 17th, Lowry Masonry constructed the foundation for the master bath which allowed us to complete the floor system on Thursday.

About all we have to report these two weeks is more wall framing and construction of a small retaining wall using very large rocks. It was necessary for us to build this wall so that we could travel around the foundation on foot and with the loader. Enjoy the photos.

Unfortunately we were unable to find a subcontractor to install the porch foundations so Andrew and Ralph had to. After the porch foundations were constructed, we began backfilling and compacting the gravel-about 200 tons worth! Wall framing continued as well.

We continued forming and preparing to pour the porch slabs this week. We also worked on flashing the basement window openings and continued framing the basement area stud walls and soffits.
